I was getting ready to paint the gunship gray on my SD viper and had your book sitting right there so flipped through it for where the demarcation lines were. That's when I realized for the first time that most SD vipers don't have the A/C vent behind the right side cockpit. Nice save! I was really impressed how you showed the span of markings from the early A's to the most modern. I CAN'T wait to see the 'Viper Guide' with quality like this!! --Mike Long, Maineville, OH, 178FW avionics troop
This is one awesome book. I am really pleased with the photography and I consider this an integral part of my F-16 memory bank. I saw a whole lot of old "friends" between the covers of that book. --Tom Foard, Richmond, Virginia, retired 192FW avionics troop
The book arrived today.....WOOOOOOO, it is so great!! Thanks a lot and my hat´s off for Your intense work on this huge project. I really think is it the greatest F-16 book yet available. I specially like the text details saying what happened to the particular aircraft on the picture (AMARG, crashed, transferred to another unit etc.) --Henrik Elstorp, Denmark
I got the book today and I must say that this is outstanding....great work. The book is excellent!
Got the book in the mail today. Awesome job!!!.Probably one the best books I have ever bought. Keep up the good work. Look forward to the other books coming out. --Jason Owens, Richmond, Virginia
Hey Jake i just got your book and i wanna say its awesome! It has great pics and was a great buy.
I got mine Thursday. What a great book! Lots of cool history that I am glad won't be lost in cyberspace forever. I love how you revisited the units that no longer even have the Vipers, cool (and sad) to see how they have been shuffled and transistioned throughout the years. And the coolest part is there's pictures right up to a few months ago in it. That doesn't happen very often, usually by the time the books come out half of the "current" information that is published is outdated. I definately recommend this book, it is worth it!
I just got it yesterday afternoon, it is simply the finest book on F-16's I've ever seen! Everybody go get one!
Just wanted to put in my 2 cents on the book. EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET A COPY!
It is now THE book for ANG F-16's and the future volumes will be THE book for those units as well, and The Modern Viper Guide will raise the bar for aircraft detail reference books. --Dave Cook, Terre Haute, Indiana, retired 181FW Viper crewchief
I just got my book today! WOW! Outstanding! --Joel Watson, Billings, Montana
Wow Jake, Sierra Hotel, man! What an incredible book, from the first to the last page. It's great to see so many old friends, both photographers and all of those Vipers....A first class publication from a first class guy. I can't wait for the next one! I recommend it to anyone who has ever looked up when they heard a JFS wind up...
--Kent Tomlinson I am just blown away by this thing....its just far and away the most incredible resource available for F-16Cs....I don't own a viper book-- and I own all of them-- that comes close to this. Its just not that it lays everything out for you, but the pictures are gorgeous, and large enough to be really useful should you decide to add a "lot something extra" to your next viper build. I'm out of superlatives.....its just beyond description.....its a "have to see it to believe it" type of thing. It bodes VERY well for the upcoming titles, and having been there for a lot of the A-10 pictures....WOW! --Scott Brown
I just received my copy in the mail and I must say, Jake, you should be proud. What an incredible reference.
